Fall in love with your phone and enjoy an Ice Cream Sandwich

Oct 19

Finally!!! The new Nexus is here and I’m soo excited about it.
Could you imagine a hybrid between a phone and a tablet? That’s the new Galaxy Nexus. Amazing device, slim and curved with a heart made of an Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest Android version.

If you could really fall in love with a decive, you would definitely fall in love with this one.

Some of the amazing features:

- The home screen includes re-sizable widgets for apps and a simple swipe action to clear notifications
- To let users monitor data usage, ICS includes a reporting feature with data breakdowns and controls.
- Touch to beam: there’s a new feature called “beam” that lets you share things with friends using NFC technology. You just need to put 2 Galaxy nexus together in order to share whatever it is on your phone. From a YouTube video to a contact.
- Speech-to-text functionality to dictate. Words will magically appear on the device’s screen. I love this feature because I hate the keyboard on the screen. I’m much slower so this will solve that issue!
- In the security realm, there is a device unlock feature via facial recognition.
- Lots of new improvements have also been made on the camera app.
- One of my favs: when you receive a call you can pick it up, hang up or… you can inmediately text that person with a message like: I’ll call you later. I’ve named this feature the apologetic hang up.

If the words are not enough and you want to see it…

Tracking and measuring Google +1

Jul 06
2011

With all this Social bombing that we’ve had in the last weeks with Google +1 and Google +, I would like to talk about reporting and tracking of all this.
Here are the new reporting capabilities that are now available.
Nothing feels quite real until you can measure it…

Google Webmaster Tools
Show you how the +1 button affects the traffic coming to your pages:
- How +1‘s affect your organic search traffic, CTR changes when personalized recommendations help your content stand out
- How many times your pages have been +1’d, from buttons both on your site and on other pages (such as Google search)
- Aggregate geographic and demographic information about the Google users who’ve +1’d your pages

Social Plugin Tracking in Google Analytics
Shows how users share your content using other buttons besides +1 (i.e. Like, Twitter):
- Behavior changes for visits that include clicks on +1 buttons or other social actions
- Track the number of social actions (+1 clicks, Tweets, etc) taken on your site, all in one place
- Compare the pages on your site to see which are driving the highest the number of social actions

Creating your short URL for your Google+ profile

Jul 05
2011

A great tool I discovered today is Gplus.to.
I’m lucky to enjoy Google+ soon enough as to be able to choose my nickname without having availability problems!
If you’re in the same situation… choose your nick wisely since you won’t be able to have a lot of freedom in the future.
And… to share it in your signature, blog, emails, business cards simply go to Gplus.to and get your link!
